The idea for Ugees was born in 2018 after one of the founders, Rahul, was forced to wash his underpants with the only alternative he had at the time, a conventional soap bar. He was annoyed by the entire procedure of handling the soap bar, staining his hands, and attempting to wick detergent out of the underwear while rinsing. He was also irritated by the requirement to sanitize cleaned underwear after rinsing. This prolonged process compelled him to try another accessible alternative in the bathroom the next time, which turned out to be a liquid 'Hand wash'. He continued to use the hand wash to wash his underwear for a few days until he realized he couldn't be the only one experiencing this. So he talked it with his partner, Samiksha, the second founder, and it immediately clicked with her, and why wouldn't it? So they continued their quest for a solution to this problem, but they were unable to find anything suitable, which prompted them to design their own

Rahul, a biotechnology graduate and postgraduate in business administration with a background in pharmaceuticals, is well-versed in the chemistry of things. As a result, he felt compelled to use his knowledge. He began developing a specific undergarment detergent with the help of various experts in the field. On the other side, Samiksha, a biotechnology graduate with a postgraduate in fashion management from NIFT-New Delhi, who worked in the fashion industry for four years, is well-versed in organizational requirements. She has made a significant contribution to the product's aesthetics due to her creative personality.
